The basis for the logo is the three letter abbreviation WPE (Workshop on Philosophy and Engineering). It can be extended by the full title of the workshop, the year, or converted into a line bordering information. The open format of the logo suggests that the workshop will leave room for debate and for continuing academic discussions into the future.

The logo can be used black on white, or vice-versa, or in different contrasting colors. We chose a set of calming colors, steel blue, a light olive green and a warm dark grey, to introduce a little bit of calm into the sometimes hectic academic discussion.

For the book covers, we used images that convey how technology has changed us and the work we need to do to perceive these changes. In the first book, a photo of an antique record player displays numbers that once held significance for its users. Now, those once familiar numbers must be decoded by later generations. The second image is taken from a train, the streaking of lights only able to be captured by camera. Such images relate how our everyday technologies are both familiar and unfamiliar.
For the book covers, these images are cut through, focusing on ‘underlying’ philosophical questions that the workshop sought to address.
